Working alongside complex injured clients is a delicate balance between art and science. For any individual, there can be thousands of issues that result in pain, many of which are difficult to see initially. As a movement professional, your most beneficial tool kit is knowing where to start when assessing movement, and then how to interpret the clues that will progress and unwind your most perplexing clients.
Therapeutic Pilates: Introduction to Dynamic Assessment & Clinical Reasoning for Movement Professionals is a two-hour virtual workshop taught by Master Instructor, Melanie Byford-Young, and is designed to connect these subtle movement patterns in a systematic way. Created for certified movement professionals and physical therapists with a minimum of 2 years experience, this workshop is a perfect start for anyone who wishes to incorporate an introductory, interactive, and movement-focused assessment program into their one-on-one work with clients.
After taking the introductory workshop, you’ll then be prepared to dive deeper into the Level 1 & Level 2 video-on-demand packages (available for purchase separately).

What Participants Are Saying
“The thing I love about what Melanie did with her assessments is that she shows you how to unwind the issue. I have taken the Injuries & Special Populations STOTT course which addresses specific issues and movement patterns, but it doesn’t teach you how to unwind the issues for long term relief–this is what I love about Melanie’s content!!” – Lisa Morton, STOTT PILATES® Fully Certified Instructor and Personal Trainer
“I’m impressed with the level of content and I made the choice to invest in the video-on-demand content because this is a long term investment for me. Education should never stop. This is stuff I use in so many aspects of teaching with clients.” – Emerald Green, STOTT PILATES® Fully Certified Instructor & Mindful Movement Instructor
“Ever since I purchased the video-on-demand content, I’ve been using the assessments. What I love about it is having the notes and videos to continually refer to whenever I need it. Melanie’s knowledge is vast and brilliant, and I’m able to continue developing my skill in dynamic movement assessment with these videos. It’s helpful to have the assessment framework supplied and I’m continuously referring back to it.” – Karen Shomaker, Physical Therapist & STOTT PILATES® Rehab Certified Instructor
